Cutlery Restoration & Repair
DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON ALL OUR SUPPLIERS ARE UNDER GREAT TIME PRESSURE. ANY RESORATION WORK SUBMITTED FROM MID-NOVEMBER TO END OF DECEMBER WILL BE PRIORITISED IN DATE ORDER IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY.
We are happy to respond to email enquiries provided that they are accompanied by a jpeg photograph. Our email address for this service is firstname.lastname@example.org
We cannot provide a fixed quote until our cutler has physically examined the item(s) to be repaired.
VAT is payable on all repairs, and our service charge for each job is a minimum of £10.00 plus VAT.
Our cutlery restorer is Stan Riley, who has over 40 years experience in the cutlery trade.
Stan joined the trade as a boy aged 17 in 1969. During the 1980s Stan was one of the many cutlery workers laid off due to factory closures. He set up his own workshop and is one of a small network of highly skilled "Little Mesters." As well as carrying out repairs to table cultery and kitchen knives, he makes his own cutlery for sale through retailers. We are proud to sell his beautifully finished cranberry spoons and his Willow pattern range of cutlery accessories.
Through Stan (and when necessary other local craftspeople) we can carry out the following:
- restoration and replating of silver plated cutlery
- re-polishing of cutlery
- re-handling of white handled cutlery
- repairs to stag carving sets
- regrinding and repairs to kitchen knives including re-handling
- other miscellaneous one-off repairs.
